    The Senior Fund Accountant will be an integral member of the London based fund accounting team providing support to Oaktree’s European Senior Loan strategy. She/he will primarily be responsible for assisting the Vice President and Assistant Vice President in the coordination, supervision, and review of the accounting records maintained in-house or by a variety of third-party administrators, custodians, and other service providers. Commingled fund structures include open- and closed-ended funds domiciled in various jurisdictions. The strategy includes Luxembourg SICAVs, separately managed accounts and European CLOs managed by Oaktree. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities:


    • Performing review and oversight of the monthly closing process for the investment portfolios and funds; including pricing, management fee and expense accrual calculations, review and reconciling portfolio holdings and activity to custodial records and counterparty records as required.
    • Performing review and oversight of the daily cash and position reconciliations process with custodial and other counterparties, and assisting support teams in resolving discrepancies as required.
    • Performing review and oversight of the fund accounting records maintained in-house on Oaktree’s Geneva accounting system of record.
    • Assist with the corporate governance oversight of a multi-jurisdictional entity (Guernsey, Luxembourg, U.K. and Ireland).
    • Monitor investor capital activity, including contributions, withdrawals and income distributions.
    • Monitor inter-company cash flows, expense accruals and payments against budgets and expense caps where applicable.
    • Ensuring appropriate accounting recognition for corporate actions and investment restructurings.
    • Reviewing and/or preparing schedules for regulatory filings (AIFMD Annex IV, Form PF and CRS/FATCA).
    • Reviewing and/or preparing quarterly and annual financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS as required per the terms of the entity.
    • Coordinating the interim and annual financial statement audit fieldwork with the external auditors.
    • Calculating management fees and preparing invoices for separately managed accounts.


    • Minimum 3 years combined experience with exposure to an accounting/operations department for an investment management firm along with working within the investment management practice of an accounting firm is preferable.
    • Experience performing complex reconciliations with a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of fund accounting (associated journal entries) and an ability to think through the investment process.
    • Investment accounting exposure to traditional fixed income securities, bank debt, equities and currency hedging transactions.
    • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word).
    • Experience with Advent Geneva and Advent Geneva World Investor is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with Black Mountain Everest order management system is advantageous.
