Responsibilities

 

 

The Senior Vice President or Managing Director is responsible for consulting and collaborating with Oaktree’s senior leaders, to drive the development and communication of a comprehensive strategic vision and plan for Oaktree. The ultimate objective is to positively grow the AUM, profitability and reputation of Oaktree consistent with our mission: To deliver superior investment results with risk under control and to conduct our business with the highest integrity.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Developing and understanding the company’s business, competitive landscape and market position;
  • Collaborating with Oaktree investment professionals in the identification of new business opportunities and growth strategies (both organic and inorganic);
  • Working with investment banks or advisors in assessing opportunities to determine if Oaktree wants to engage as buyer in a sell-side process;
  • Conducting due diligence, working with key stakeholders, guiding target research, building financial models and executing transactions;
  • Performing industry analysis and market segmentation and identifying and tracking competitor performance; and
  • Managing multiple projects, responding to ad-hoc requests on competitive and strategic issues and effectively communicating with all levels for management across the company.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • The successful candidate will have approximately 10 years of business experience, which may include a background in investment banking, finance and/or strategy consulting.
  • Demonstrated track record in successfully developing and executing major business development initiatives and acquisition activities.
  • Extensive experience with complex financial and competitor analysis.
  • The individual must have intellectual horsepower combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and a strong, self-guided work ethic.

 

Education

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field. MBA is strongly preferred.
