Responsibilities

Oaktree’s Control Investing team is looking to hire a 1st year MBA Intern for summer 2018 to work in Los Angeles.

 

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Recommending secondary market purchases of securities and loans; capital structure agnostic
  • Development of primary investing opportunities; capital structure agnostic
  • Leading an investment process from inception to completion; capital structure agnostic
  • Primary industry research and analysis
  • Finance, accounting and legal due diligence
  • Analysis of credit agreements, indentures and shareholder agreements
  • Transaction structuring and negotiation
  • Review and negotiation of financing commitments, purchase agreements and management agreements
  • Interaction with company management teams, boards of directors and outside advisors to help drive operational improvements at portfolio companies

Qualifications

  • 2 years investment banking or proprietary trading
  • 2+ years investment experience in private equity firm or event driven special situations fund.
  • Demonstrated competency in all aspects of investment opportunity execution including: analysis, due diligence, company valuations, preparing investment memorandums; exposure to negotiations, structuring, funding and closing deals strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional skills in analyzing investment opportunities, market information and financial statements.
  • Proven ability to understand complex deal structures.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university or college with a strong grade point average. Currently pursuing an MBA.
