  • Responsibilities

    The Senior Fund Accountant position will be a dual role; the Senior Fund Accountant will (1) be responsible for maintaining the books and records for various private partnerships and accounts, as well as reporting to clients and the portfolio group and (2) assist with coordination of the Closed-end Fund Accounting group’s financial statement audit process and SOX/SOC-1 compliance audits.



    • Preparing and maintaining the books and records of pooled private investment funds organized as limited partnerships and/or separate accounts.
    • Accounting for and reconciliation of cash, investments and real property, including recording and reconciling complex purchases, sales and corporate actions.
    • Calculating of income and expense allocations to each partner, including updating of distribution waterfall based on the terms of the governing documents.
    • Determining and preparing distributions and drawdowns.
    • Preparing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to clients.
    • Analyzing and calculating of performance metrics for partnerships/accounts as well as for each investment.
    • Coordinating and managing the annual financial statement audits and SOX/SOC-1 testing process
    • Performing reviews in connection with the reporting process for consistency and accuracy; identifying areas for process improvement, enhanced controls, standard templates, and best practices.
    • Liaising with several departments, including fund accounting, corporate accounting, and internal controls, to communicate fund data and address related questions.
    • Perform other tasks as required.


    • Minimum 2-3 years accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
    • Knowledge of closed-end private investment funds, investment company accounting and partnership accounting preferred.
    • Demonstrated skills to research, select and apply relevant U.S. GAAP accounting guidance.
    • Experience with SOX and/or SOC-1 compliance audits preferred but not required.
    • Proficiency with MS Office Excel as well as other financial applications.

    A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. A CPA is a plus.
